Both Ends Toward The Middle
After serving the Lord for a number of years, it finally dawned on me that God really is in control of everything. I always knew He cared over the big things like life and death, but it took awhile for the understanding to come about His concern over the sparrow and the flower. What came as an even greater surprise was the fact that He was always working in the detail of matters. In other words, He understands what is coming before it gets here. We... call them miracles or luck but they are really blessings. They are the things that happen that God has already prepared for.
When God sent Peter fishing to catch a fish to pay taxes with, He had already put the gold in the fishes mouth. When He sent his disciples into town to fetch a young donkey for Him to ride, he knew where the donkey was and that the owner would not complain about strangers leading his donkey away. There are so many examples of how God has made things come together in the Bible.
But look at our lives. How many times has something hindered you from doing something only to find out that you were glad it did. You had a flat tire that made you late but there was a wreck right where you should have been. You were too sick to go to work but your work place was robbed that day. There are other things that happen that are life changing as well. You went to church to see a guy or a girl but met Christ in the process. A tragedy caused you to reflect on things in a different way than you had before.
I believe that when these things are happening, God is making both end meet in the middle. We are not to complain about what happens in life but rather we are to look for something good out of every situation. God does not make mistakes. When we center our lives on the things of God and seek His will in our lives, we empower Gods will in our lives. When we refuse His will is when we get into trouble. God has it all worked out.
All we need to do is to be sensitive to His leading. That is where the blessings are. God has a special “life plan” designed just for you. It begins with salvation but the rest will be especially for you. No one on earth will ever be step for step with you except God. When scripture tells us that he will never leave nor forsake us, that means he is step for step by us. He has a plan. He went to Calvary’s Cross and paid for our sin debt there before we were ever born. He knew we would need a Savior. Our part is to accept His death as our gift. Make sure your end meets His in the middle.
