EQUIPPING THE SAINTS - WHAT ABOUT YOU?

As of late, I have been reading in the bible about the empowerment of the Apostles and Jesus sending them here and there, without money, without staff, without shoes, and clothed in a single garment. Afterwards He would say to them "When I sent you away like this, did you lack anything?", to which they replied "No". Even at those times during troubles and tribulations they lacked confidence in God, yet they didn't perish in their afflictions.

God did not abandon them, nor has he abandoned us today. Make no mistake about it, adversity will come, trials and tribulations will face us, just as in the day of the Disciples. He teaches us to fear nothing, that He is with us, do not doubt and do not be afraid, have courage and you will be delivered. We have the same promises as His disciples,... the only caveat is we change--Jesus doesn't!

So, what’s the point here? It’s about trusting God to provide.

Do we trust God to supply our needs? Are we also taking personal responsibility and planning? Do we have faith that He will give us what we need to carry out His work in 2019? Are you with me so far?

You are good, Lord, and all You do is good. Help us in our endeavors to pray and to plan and to trust You in this new year! Amen.
